August
18, 1951 marked a milestone
for The Singing Rage, Miss
Patti Page. The shy 23-year-old
was escorted into a Manhattan
recording studio by her
manager Jack Rael to record
her second concept album,
Christmas with Patti
Page. Page loved Christmas
and was known to start preparing
for the festive season long
before the last autumn leaf
would fall and while crisp
apple pies were cooling
before Thanksgiving dinner.
October 29, 2013 represents
another Page milestone with
the release of Real Gone
Music’s Christmas with
Patti Page.
The
Deluxe Edition of Christmas
with Patti Page is filled
to capacity with the best
in nostalgic Christmas favorites
complete with unforgettable
Big Band sound and that
unmistakable voice of The
Singing Rage. The
release offers the original
1955 12-song album plus
six bonus songs including
the [in] famous A-side to
Tennessee Waltz,
Boogie Woogie Santa Claus,
and the 1959 single release
Little Donkey along
with soundtrack cuts from
television’s 1955 Patti
Page Show Christmas
episode.
Real
Gone’s Deluxe Edition
of Christmas with Patti
Page features the original
1955 album cover art. It
also contains rare
color and black and white
photographs of Patti Page
in a 12 page booklet that
gives a historic behind
the scenes look at her recording
schedule from the 1950 Boogie
Woogie Santa recording
session to her final Mercury
Records Christmas session
in 1959.
If
you long for the days when
children’s Christmas wish
lists were circled in the
toy sections of Sears and
J.C. Penny catalogs, when
families gathered around
one television set to watch
Bing Crosby and Perry Como
Christmas specials or if
you remember when you purchased
your first color television
set so the little ones could
watch Rudolph the Red-Nosed
Reindeer for the first
time, then the Deluxe CD
Edition of Christmas
with Patti Page is a
treasure you will want to
share with family and friends
for generations to come!
